Review: Impiana Resort Cherating

“Good value, if you dont expect much”
as reviewed for TripAdvisor

We chose Impiana after comparing it with some other comparable accommodations in cherating.

Booking was done online direct with impiana which was hassle free and smooth.

Check in was below my expectation as there was no proper greetings which feels like you're not welcomed there. It was like "here, here's your key..this way, this way..bye bye..". No welcome drinks or hot towels etc, if u expect those. The only consolation was our room got upgraded for free.

Our upgraded Superior Duluxe Seaview was large, almost like a suite with living room, two balconies and wardrobe. Bathroom was large too with bath tub, but missing a shower curtain, if you prefer shower but not wanting to wet the floor.
Breakfast was average, expected more variety in terms of local delicacies that the east coast is famous for. Most of the food were rather tasteless.

The resort shows its age and there were efforts to upgrade it (replacing the timber walkway etc) but more to be done if really wanna make impiana cherating a true gem.

Overall, its a good value if you dont expect much.

Review: Ao Nang Goodwill, Krabi

“One of the Best”As reviewed for TripAdvisor

ao nang goodwill hotel resort krabi thailand phi phi islands beach

My friend and I were on a tight budget for our short trip and upon checking with Goodwill, they offered us a good deal inclusive of trips to Phi-phi and 4-Islands.

As we travel during low season, there was no requirement for booking or deposit. Simply email them that we're coming over the day before check in. I guess you can't do that during peak season.
We arrived quite late but the reception was welcoming enough with friendly gestures.

Simple registration done and we're showed our rooms, which is spacious and excellent for the price that we pay. The bed was comfortable enough after one long day journey from KL-Hatyai-Krabi and we quickly rest before next day's trip to Phi-phi.

There was TV, fridge, safe, and even balcony overlooking the greenery at the back of the hotel. The bathroom even came with a bathtub. You're provided 2 bottles of complimentary drinking water daily and there are beers and snacks too but to be charged in your room bill.

You can arrange all sorts of trips at the reception and they offered good rates too (not overcharging you)
A short stroll down to the beach

You may find this hotel location is quite far from the beach and the centre but we dont have issues with that as the walk was enjoyable enough. If walking is not your cup of tea, then take a tuktuk or rent a bike to move around.

All in all: excellent and worth every penny

Banana Pancake, a must try

“You Get What You Pay”
As reviewed for TripAdvisor

koh lipe resort viewpoint sunrise beach thailand maldives
View from our room

We stayed over at Viewpoint for 3 nights and for the price that we pay, it's totally worth it.

Bare in mind that this is not a luxury hotel as the neighboring resorts around it
(Serendipity/Idyllic/Castaway) But for the lil feeling of being on a private beach instead of the more crowded part of the Sunrise beach, Viewpoint could just be the perfect place for you.

I agree on the reviews by others on this place, you cant expect much but it'll definitely a good choice if you're on budget or prefer to spend more on other stuff (snorkeling trips/food etc)

There are 2 types of bungalows - the newer ones right on the smack of the beach & the older ones which is few steps uphill, but both are in good condition with towels provided (not daily though) & mozzi net.

There is a restaurant at the main building but we never bother having meals there since there are more to choose at the Walking Street (around 10-15mins walk).
